WEFE Nexus challenges for the Spanish NEL

Water resource management in Spain presents many challenges due to competition for water and the frequency of drought periods. In addition, rising energy and fertilizer prices exacerbate the situation for farmers. An aging farming population and a shrinking rural population add further complications. To address these problems, innovative strategies that integrate young farmers, promote sustainability and respond effectively to climate change are needed.
