Gender equality training
This
training aims to give basic knowledge of gender concepts and make clear how
gender is related to water, energy, food, and ecosystems.
This is
important to improve women’s participation
in decision-making processes related to the WEFE nexus. While women play a key
role in agriculture, water and energy management, and ecosystem safeguard they
are often under-represented and their views are poorly taken into account in
decision-making processes.
The
training is divided into two modules. During the first one, you will learn
basic gender concepts, international conventions on gender equality and women
empowerment, and the relations between gender and the WEFE nexus.
The second
module is specific for each NEL and aims to identify gender issues at the country level.
The training
program was put into place in October 2022 to teach NEL leaders how to address
gender issues in stakeholder workshops.
